The Khordha District Collector has been directed to conduct an inquiry and submit a report by May 6, while Samanta has also been issued a notice to respond by the same date. The issue stems from a statement made during a World Autism Awareness Day event, where he linked autism to past life karma, triggering widespread backlash across sections. Despite the outrage and petitions filed in the matter, no apology or official response has yet come from Achyuta Samanta, with the Commission terming the issue as highly sensitive and serious.
